Breakfast for dinner is one of our favorites. Growing up, we used to have breakfast for dinner most Sunday nights – I so looked forward to it! Eggs, bagel and the newest Disney movie would be on…and then it later turned into us watching America’s Funniest Home Videos 😉 Jack was out of tow for a few nights this week, so I thought I would try a “healthier” version of breakfast for dinner. Banana Whole Wheat Waffles from 100 Days of Real Food.
Of course, the first round looked like this above ha! I only used one banana because I thought it might overwhelm the taste of the waffles if I put two (the amount in the recipe). Lawton likes bananas, Wyatt not so much. I bought the PURE maple syrup at the store and that was a bust. It was amber and TERRIBLE. We stuck with our regular syrup.
Lawton liked them and I won’t even show you Wyatt, who spit his out. The banana flavor wasn’t for him. Lawton said to make them next time without the bananas…listen, this isn’t Waffle House. They taste healthy. If you have young kids, start them with whole wheat! Mine are used to IHop 😉
