Statement Home is a beautiful home store right in the heart of Myers Park owned by interior designer and owner of Diel Design, Cathy Diel (pronounced Dial ;). Statement Home is located in the shops of Selwyn and they have everything from lamps, rugs, pillows, couches, to knick knacks – and they can design your house from the bottom up!
Cathy has been an interior designer for over 20 years. Cathy grew up in Alabama, went to Appalachian State University for college, moved to Charlotte soon after and is raising her sons, Max and Mason here. She decided to open her showroom, Statement Home in 2018.
Statement Home has a very Palm Beach vibe – they try to keep things in their showroom that no one else has. They have 3 designers – they can do renovations, build from scratch, even up reupholster a chair. No job is too small or too big for them. (I love that!) After having a consultation, they will come see your space, and for $150/hour will listen to your needs and wants and set up a plan. You can chose to go the hourly rate or the full design route.
Cathy opened Statement Home because she loves the presence of a community. They love the foot traffic they get being in Myers Park, you can walk in, purchase from the store, meet some of the designers, its the whole 9 yards and a beautiful gift store as well.
When you walk in Statement Home you will be greeted by Heather Sendler, the showroom manager. Heather is so wonderful, such a people person, she is warm and welcoming and just loves to chat and help you in any way. Plus, she has 5 kids, so bring your kids in! Statement Home is not intimidating in any way and Heather makes you feel so at home. Like I said, no project is too small. If you need a few coffee table books, Heather is happy to help! If you need new window treatments, Heather is happy to help as well. She loves people and loves her job. The hours are Monday – Friday 10-5 and Saturday 11-4. Heather will always be there – go in and meet her!
