I admit, I haven’t been too fond of Chissy Teigan as of late. Jack hates when he finds out what he is eating is from her cookbook. BUT, I admit, she has some very tasty recipes and usually 3/4 or 4/4 of us like them. Here is the cookbook if you want to try it. (I love it)
I like to throw in a random sandwich here and there and this looked delish…..and it was…well to 2/4 of us. It was easy to make but I did buy Harris Teeter slaw instead of making this one. 1. I knew my boys wouldn’t eat it 2. I don’t particularly like slaw and 3. Jack will have a little, so why waste so much time and some money. MOVING ON right!?
I mean seriously Lawton??? He is SO PICKY. He ate 3 bites and was done- he couldn’t give me a reason WHY he didn’t like it though. Wyatt really liked it and ate all of his. I ate it with no bun and liked it – it was tangy and had a bit of spice at the end of the bite. Now the one I was surprised about was Jack.
Jack tasted it right out the pot and really liked it. He ate it with the bun and slaw and said “it is like the sloppy Joe of BBQ sandwiches”….the bun was a little too soft and I think he is used to BBQ that cooks all day long and this cooked for an hour.
If you want to try and your family are big chicken eaters – I would totally attempt this. I thought it was really good and 2 out of 4 is better than none – here is the recipe. Let me know if you end up trying it!
