Peachy the Magazine is an online magazine created in 2013 by Blair Farris. “Peachy” was Blair’s grandmother and a huge inspiration in her life, and creating this magazine was the perfect way to honor her. Blair is from Austin, TX and remembers going to Dallas to visit Peachy and she would take she and her sister to Neimans to shop, they would go to museums, ballets, they would graden, cook, etc. She loved everything beautiful and had great style.

Blair moved to Charlotte in 1993 from TX (her husband is from Charlotte) and has raised three kids here. Blair is an incredible landscape architect, who loves fashion and wanted to incorporate all of this and more in her magazine. She she hired a team of editors, digital techs, put together a media kit, got on RewardStyle, and amassed an email list and boom, Peachy the Magazine was born. The first year they put out 9 issues! Digital magazines were just starting at the time and people were loving it!
They realized that that putting out 9 issues a year was a lot of work and in 2014 went to 6, and in 2015 decided to do the magazine quarterly which was the perfect fit. They feature a different city in each issue, they have fashion, recipes, interior design, gardening, it is the perfect lifestyle magazine. I met Blair a few years ago when she hosted Peachy the Magazine event at Neiman Marcus in Charlotte. She has done 5 runway shows at Neimans in Charlotte and Dallas – the Dallas store reached out to her because so many people were reading her magazine there and loved her style! She styled all of the outfits for the shows and they were a huge success.
With around 25,000 readers, Peachy has done very well. They link everything so you can buy the items right off the page which is so convenient. Price points in the magazine around between $100-450.
During Covid they had to pivot a bit. People weren’t entertaining, traveling,or dressing up. She took fashion down a notch in pricing and found things that were affordable and not all loungewear. Blair is a big believer in shopping locally, so she came up with an idea….
The Capsule Collection. The capsule collection is a collection that 90% of the brands/designers are from Charlotte. She wanted a curated line for readers that could be dressed up or dressed down. The collections will be put out three times a year and limited to around 10 items of each piece, that way, you have something that your neighbor most likely won’t be wearing! It makes the pieces you purchase very special.
Last week, we did a runway show in Blair’s beautiful backyard for the first capsule collection. It was a gorgeous night for this beautiful show. It was so much fun wearing local designers mixed in with other designers to show clothes for women that range from age 35-55. You can find everything here. Here are some pictures from the night!
Check out Blair’s daughter Sydney – she painted the flowers on a Daniel Gonzalez dress!! How amazing is this? She also painted the backdrop for the show and modeled – she is so talented!
