Do you love art? Do you love color? Do you love art on bedding, plates, scarves, or wallpaper? If you answer yes to at least one of these questions, keep reading!
Laura Park is a talented artist that is based in Charlotte. If you aren’t familiar with her – here are some of her beautiful pieces below. I have admired her work for years!
Laura is from Raleigh, NC and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, where she met her husband at 19 years old. They moved to Chicago where she was a teacher, and she told me she always loved decorating her bulletin boards 😉 They moved around a bit before settling back in Charlotte in 1995, where Laura had her 4th child. When Laura was in college, she made jewelry with her mom and always had a passion for furniture, interiors and jewelry….so, once she settled in Charlotte, she started to sell her “finds” and collections at a booth at Post and Grey. She then moved her booth to Cotswold Marketplace and was there for 12 years!
Now, you want to know how she started painting right? Well, 10 years ago her dad passed away suddenly. Her way of grieving and getting through that hard time in her life was to paint. Who knew she had such a wonderful talent? She began to sell her work at her booth at Cotswold Marketplace and it was a hit.
Then she had an idea. Let’s put these prints on fabric. There was a wonderful seamstress at Cotswold Marketplace and they made pillows and bed spreads. She then took her things to market in NYC, and found that these were also a big hit! She then made more – plates, napkins, scarves, duvet covers, etc and took it to the market in Atlanta and it again, was a huge hit!
In August 2020, she opened up Laura Park in the heart of Myers Park in Charlotte. She has everything online as well at Laura Park Designs. The store is absolutely gorgeous and just a beautiful, happy space.

All of the color just brings to much joy. It is really something to see – the wallpaper, the pillows, the bedding – it is truly a masterpiece!
She has thought of it all and even has gone back to making jewelry with her prints – which if you remember, she loved to do with her mom in college!
I love these neoprene bags – she has so many beautiful gifts as well – travel bags, frames, pool bags, etc. If you need a gift, this is the place to go!
Now the bedding….THE BEDDING is just gorgeous. You can customize it with these fabric choices and the girls are there to help in any way. How beautiful are these prints? How happy would you be getting into a bed like this every night?

Her wallpaper is stunning too – here are all the samples to choose from – take your pick!!

One thing that I really loved, were the paper plates! I don’t know about you, but we use a lot of paper plates at our house – I run the dishwasher every night and sometimes, a hotdog on the paper plate is totally happening. Well, now it can happen in style! I don’t entertain often, but when you have these beautiful plates, and you know that the clean up will me MINIMAL, heck yes, come over!! She has 6 designs to choose from. She also has placemats, cocktail napkins, tumblers, etc.
The funny thing is, when I went into Laura Park, I had a little dinner party scheduled in a few weeks with friends and I decided to go all paper plates from Laura Park! Here is the table below. I went to Party City and bought these plates to put under hers and use as well. Throw in some gold plastic silverware, and way less dishes for me, yet a beautiful table!
Don’t they make the table beautiful?? Plus, the flowers were done by my very talented friend Melinda Edge of From ME to You – (more on her next week!)
Here are some of the other designs she has in paper plate and cocktail napkins – all of them are beautiful!

Here is the amazingly talented Laura Park – please visit her store if you are in Charlotte or visit her online here. Enjoy and happy shopping!!
