I like to pride myself on being somewhat of a minimalist. I don’t “need” a lot. I am good with the simple clothes and wearing just my wedding bands and my ring that Jack gave me for my boys. I wear these particular rings everyday and never take them off. BUT….the older I get, the more I have become interested in fine jewelry and things that I would one day pass down to my boys. I love a good high/low…..wearing a Erin McDermott piece or T&T necklace with something a little more on the expensive side that really means something to me.
Tiny Gods is the place to go for your fine jewelry and a place to find something special that no one else has. Mary Margaret Beaver opened Tiny Gods in November 2020 in a beautiful bungalow in the heart of Myers Park, that is called The Collaborative.
Mary Margaret moved to Charlotte in 2004 after studying marketing and advertising at Duke University and spending a few years working with DeBeers (“A Diamond is Forever”) in New York City. When she moved to Charlotte, she took a job at Elizabeth Bruns as manager, where she did all the buying, the advertising, etc for 15 years. This is when she discovered her passion for finding the best and most unique jewelry for her clients.
In 2019, Mary Margaret left Elizabeth Bruns and co-founded a jewelry brand called “Love Thy Rival” with Alex Holleman. Please check this line out – it is absolutely gorgeous! She and Alex wanted to bring inventive and fun fine jewelry to the South and beyond. Ever since working in NYC, Mary Margaret wanted to own her own jewelry store and thought now was that time. In November 2020, Tiny Gods opened their doors.
Tiny Gods is a curation of jewelry from all over the world that you can’t find anywhere else. MM wanted the jewelry to be unique and something that would stand the test of time. She told me “jewelry doesn’t have to be serious, it can be a lot fo fun too.” She totally embodies that in her store. She wanted to carry vessels of personal expression and symbols of love and significance.
Bea Bongiasca is one of the lines that is a lot of fun worn by celebrities such as Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus. I want those rings on the left!
Tiny Gods is open Monday-Saturday from 10-5 and you will be greeted by 2 other beautiful women including Mary Margaret…Nikki Takemura and Lilly Butler. All are here to make your jewelry experience wonderful and easy. My dad had a woman that he went to for every one of my mothers rings, necklaces and bracelets. I loved that all three of them had a relationship and she knew what my mom would like. She made it easy on my dad for Mothers Day, her birthday and Christmas.
