I know I have already told you about my workouts, but I thought I would give you an example of a workout that I started doing once a week in my garage a few years ago. Some of us are slowly working our way back into the gym and some people may never go back and just workout from home. I personally love working out at home, but just not everyday. I can’t wait to get back to classes because being around people motivates me so much! My neighbor Christina has seen me in my driveway doing these workouts, and has started to come over on the occasional Sunday to let me beat her little butt 😉
First download the Tabata Pro app on your phone – Depending on how long you like to workout, that is how many cycles you want to do. I have been doing this app for a while now, so I do 55 cycles. I rest 15 seconds and work for 45 seconds, so each round is a minute. I know it sounds hard but you will get used to it and burn about 500 calories! Christina worked out with me a few weeks ago and wanted to do 65 rounds, so promise it is doable.
Some equipment that I like to use is the box jump. This is a 3 in 1 with 3 different heights. I love to do box jumps, step ups, sitting squats, etc on this.

Weighted balls are also great. The slam ball is used for so many different exercises – slamming up and down, slam and then burpee, slam to the sides for abs – this is great for your arms, shoulders and abs. The medicine ball is used for a variety of exercises like lunges, I use it a ton in my ab exercises, weighted step ups, etc. For me, the medicine ball is sometimes easier to hold than weights in each hand.
Obviously weights are a given! Here is a dumbell set – I love to have lighter weights to – the 8, 5 and 3 pound one is perfect.

Bands are great to have. There are so many exercises you can do with rubber bands – google and you will find a ton! Plus, you can travel with them 😉

I love a training ladder – again, so many cardio exercises to use this for. I was using the crack on my driveway but this is better ha! This way I actually have to pick my feet up and my kids love to workout and do basketball drills with it. It easy to pack, comes with a bag to carry it in – we took it to the beach with friends this past May and the other girls loved the workout I gave them – this included!

Gliders are great and I use them for HSM streaming and my HIIT workouts in the garage. Once you have all of the equipment, the workouts are easy to think of!

And lastly, a jump rope. I jump rope in between all of the exercises and this is a must. I have this kids rope and it works just fine! There are so many benefits to jumping rope – it burns a ton of calories, it triggers an “afterburn effect”, strengthens balance and coordination, improves bone density, improves your cardiovascular system, and these are just a few. So, let’s get jumping!

Here is a sample of one of my Tabata workouts – start the first 45 sec jumping rope then number 1, then jump again, then 2, jump again and sp on- you get it 😉

Please let me know if you try it and like/hate it!
