You see this girl? This girl needed braces early on in life….and has had SO MUCH DONE to her teeth since. I loved my orthodontist growing up – my orthodontic assistant was my babysitter on the weekends and I loved her so much! I spent 3 years there and because you have to go in so often, your orthodontist becomes like family and the day you get your braces off, it’s a BIG DEAL. You graduated!
Well, it is that time again. Life happened, I lost my retainer, my teeth have moved and they bother me. Life is too short to not fix something that can be easily fixed.
Enter Lineberger Orthodontics.
I wore braces for 3 years – from 4th to 7th grades and wore my retainer until I lost it when I was living in NYC. I didn’t notice a shift in my bottom teeth until last year and very noticeably this year. Every video that I did for Instagram, I focused on my crooked bottom teeth. So, I called Dr. Matt at Lineberger Ortho. I told him I wanted Invisalign for my bottom teeth because why not? I don’t want to have these crooked teeth when I am 60, and they can only get worse. Let’s fix them now, and bonus is : everyone is wearing masks and by the time we are out of these masks, my teeth will be fixed!

The Lineberger smile squad took some pictures of my teeth and we decided that to get an even bite, we had to do Invisalign on the top and bottom. We needed to widen the top teeth and help the crowding on the lower teeth. I started my first tray last Thursday and I have 20 weeks of trays. Check out my Instagram stories to see how the slightest difference will make all of the difference!
I will never forget coming home from college one weekend and my mom had clear braces. I think most of us that have had braces when we were younger, have gotten to the point at our age where our teeth have shifted. Matt says he sees 50% adults and 50% kids and currently treats a 91 year old! It is never too late!

Cheers to straight teeth and a great smile. Wyatt’s surgeon always said a smile is so important. I have seen my baby have 2 different smiles from his cleft and let me tell you, teeth are important. A smile lights up your face, it lights up your eyes. Be happy with it. Life is too short!
Unfortunately, both of my kids are going to need extensive work done with their teeth. Wyatt sees an ortho that his surgeon works closely with, but Lawton needed someone that he was going to be comfortable with and really enjoy going to see, because it ain’t all fun and games in the dentist’s chair all of the time. I knew Lawton would love Matt and his team. The first time we walked in and Lawton met Matt, he whispered “Mom! Have you seen his shoes?!?!? They are amazing!” Please tell me what orthodontist you can say that about?? Not many.

Lineberger Orthodontics is comfortable, everyone is SO incredibly nice and you know your kid is going to have a great relationship with everyone there for years to come. The office is so cool too – sports paraphernalia everywhere, ipads for the kids to play on while waiting, a massage chair in the waiting room, TVs on the ceiling to watch Netflix while they are working on your teeth….it is the place to be.

One thing Matt really wanted to have when he opened his offices was this scanner. He hated getting impressions done in dental school and had a bad gag reflex, like most of us do! No impressions are done here. Wyatt had to have an impression done when he was a few years ago and he vomited all over his shirt, left sobbing and refused to go back for MONTHS. This is a lifesaver for kids and adults. No more gagging!

Another amazing thing that Lineberger Orthodontics does is Stats for Smiles. They have teamed up with some incredible athletes (that they have personally treated) such as Kawaan Short, Christian McCaffrey, and Frank Kaminsky to give a child or a vet a set of braces when they earn his or her stat, no matter if itβs one time a season or 20 times a season! This is incredible!! You can go to the link above and nominate someone you know and maybe they will be treated by Lineberger and get a free set of braces. They have given away over $200,000 worth of braces to kids and vets because of these athletes. I love this so much.

Aren’t they the cutest family? Mason (9), Millie (5), Dr. Meg, Dr. Matt, McCoy (18 mos) and Mia (7) Lotta cute M’s right there π Go visit them at one of their 3 locations in Huntersville, Charlotte or their new practice in Mooresville that just opened in 2020. I can’t wait to have my 7th grade teeth back in a few months π Thanks Dr. Matt and Dr. Meg for bringing such a cool, fun practice to Charlotte!
