If you live in Charlotte and drive up and down East Blvd – you know this building. The one that has been changed over by different businesses multiple times. Well guess what? House of Nomad is here to stay! First of all, how BEAUTIFUL is the outside of this store? They painted the steps and walkway black and white stripes all the way to the street and it is a store that just screams COME IN AND SEE ME! It is also a total Instagram worthy picture too 😉
House of Nomad is a store that takes you all over the world. Kelley Lentini and Berkeley Minkhorst met and hit it off immediately. One was a interior designer and one just loved design – both has a passion for travel and they just became soulmates. They put their heads together and in 2017, both quit their jobs and started House of Nomad as strictly an interior design business. They traveled the world, brought things back for clients, met and made relationships with artisans all over and were working out of their houses.

In 2018, Kelley and Berkeley found a space in South End and ran their design business from there. They hired a team of designers and had a little party with things they had brought back on their travels to see how it would do with people that weren’t necessarily their design clients. Well, it went VERY well. In 2019 they moved again into a bigger space so that they could sell some of their treasures and pieces and also design from the same space.
Places they have traveled and brought things back from are Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco, and South Africa, just to name a few. They wanted their design method to be eclectic modern, travel oriented and globally inspired. They combine their love for home and travel so that you get a taste of the world without having to leave your house.
By this time, they had wonderful relationships with their vendors overseas, so COVID didn’t affect them that much. They used Whats App, shopped on Zoom calls, and promoted online shopping big time. Now listen to this. These girls are dreamers. When they have an idea, they will see it through. They take chances. In OCTOBER 2020, that’s right, right during the middle of Covid they opened a beautiful store in Charleston on King Street! Then, just to make things more crazy and fun, the East Blvd space became available and they moved in in April 2021!! I love these girls!!! Taking chances and living out their dream.

East Blvd is the same deal – design in the back and storefront in the front. They now have a great space, more things to look at and purchase but don’t forget, they can design your house from the ground up as well!

You will have to go in and see this beautiful store for yourself OR if you aren’t in Charlotte or Charleston, shop online! AND… through NEXT TUESDAY 7/14, use BROOKE10 for 10% your order and if you go in the store, mention me anf they will honor this code!

Meet Kelley Lentini and Berkeley Minkhorst — the beautiful owners and designers of House of Nomad 😉
